Educators Workshop is Hong Kong's first series of workshops for educators to learn the basics of film literacy, using the moving image as an educator's teaching tool.
This Workshop provides a broad introduction to the study of film as an art form. It will explore the concepts of film form, aesthetics and style, while remaining attentive to the cultural and historical context in which a work is produced and seen. Throughout the Workshop, we will examine closely the construction of sight and sound through various modes of organizing these core elements. In each session, a film will be shown in full after the initial lecture by Programme Director Ms Wong Ain-ling, followed by analyses by and discussions with dedicated critics and scholars.
The Workshop consists of 12 classes and is held on alternate Saturday afternoons. It runs twice a year between January to June and between July to December, and it's free-of-charge for educators.
