Educators Advanced Workshop Class A (May – June 2012)

Educators Advanced Workshop is an advanced workshop specially designed for graduates from Educators Workshop to further explore the mystery of film as an arts form. This Workshop focuses on how literature is adapted into film and uses three significant films, The Story of Qiu Ju, Rouge and 2001: A Space Odyssey, to illustrate the complex interplay between literature and film. The workshop will concentrate on the difference as well as similarities among the two genres in terms of operation, aesthetics and representation, and also how the two response to social issues and their audiences. Humanity and social issues that are reflected in sci-fi movies will also be discussed.
