FAQs for Educators Advanced Workshop

Part 1: General Information


  1. Q: Who should take this Workshop?

    A: This Workshop is designed for educators who have completed Educators Workshop.
  2. Q: If I didn’t complete the course of Educators Workshop, am I eligible to apply for Educators Advanced Workshop,

    A: No.
  3. Q: I have already taken previous Educators Advanced Workshop, can I still apply?

    A: Yes. Every course of Educators Advanced Workshop has its own curriculum which is different from previous Workshops. The content will not be duplicated.
  4. Q: What language will the Workshop be conducted in?

    A: The Workshop will be conducted in Cantonese. All films selected to be screened will be subtitled in either Chinese or English.
  5. Q: What time and how often does the Workshop take place?

    A: The Workshop will take place on Saturday afternoons from 2:30pm to 5:30pm for 6 sessions (within 2-month period). Each session includes a lecture plus film screening and discussion.
  6. Q: Where does the Workshop take place?

    A: The Workshop will take place at Room CVA103, 1/F, Communication and Visual Arts Building, Hong Kong Baptist University, 5 Hereford Road, Kowloon Tong, Kowloon
  7. Q: Must I attend all sessions?

    A: We strongly advise the candidates to attend all sessions to gain the most out of the Workshop. A HK$1,000 security deposit is required upon admission. A minimum attendance rate of 5 out of 6 sessions is required for a 100% refund by the end of the Workshop. For candidates who have not completed 5 sessions, the deposit will not be refunded.
  8. Q: Can someone else attend the Workshop sessions in my place?

    A: No.

 

Part 2: Application


  1. Q: How can I apply?

    A: To apply for the Workshop you must complete the attached application form and deliver to us by the following methods before closing date:

  2. Q: How do I know if my application form has been received?

    A: We will send you a confirmation of receipt via email upon receiving the application form within 10 working days. If you do not receive a confirmation of receipt, please check your email address or write to us at jcca@hkiff.org.hk
  3. Q: When will I be notified of the result?

    A: The result will be notified via email within two weeks from the closing date.

 

Part 3: Fee and Deposit


  1. Q: Do I need to pay any fee for application and tuition?

    A: No application and tuition fee will be required. We offer the Workshop FREE to the selected candidates. A HK$1,000 security deposit is required upon admission (please refer to Question 7)
  2. Q: How do I pay the deposit?

    A: We accept payments in the following methods:

    By Cheque
    Please make a crossed cheque payable to “The Hong Kong International Film Festival Society Limited” and post it to Hong Kong International Film Festival Society Limited at 21/F., Millennium City 3, 370 Kwun Tong Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong.

    Please send us the bank pay-in-slip for receipt issuance by email at jcca@hkiff.org.hk or by fax at (852) 2970-3011.
  3. Q: When will I receive my deposit back?

    A: Within 14 working days from the last Workshop session.
  4. Q: Can I get back the deposit if the Workshop is cancelled?

    A: Yes. You can receive a full refund if the Workshop is cancelled. Please note that the deposit will not be refunded if a participant withdraws from the Workshop without attending 5 sessions.
