Youth Volunteer Programme
Get involved and be an essential part of Asia's most important film events!
The Youth Volunteer Programme (the Programme) is a training programme for young people in Hong Kong to be future leaders, programmers and arts administrators for a thriving arts and cultural environment. The Programme will introduce volunteers to the programming, marketing and operations of Asia's leading film events, including the Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF) and the Summer International Film Festival (SIFF). Selected young volunteers will be given the rare opportunity to participate in “behind-the-scenes” of the HKIFF and the film industry.
Volunteers will be trained in transferable skills and rewarded with a wealth of film knowledge, unique experiences and a chance to make some great friends.

Eligibility
Applicants must be students aged between 15 and 25
Currently enrolled in a FULL-TIME course offered by an acceptable institution in Hong Kong
Proficient in Cantonese and English; knowledge in foreign languages is definitely an advantage
Applicants with outstanding performance during trainings may be chosen to take a team leader role
Schedule
The HKIFFS is always on a look out for passionate and dedicated individuals to volunteer year-round in Hong Kong
Applicants are required to assist in all areas of the 36th HKIFF from December 2011 to mid April 2012, whilst for the SIFF will be held in July to August 2012
Commitment
Applicants are required to attend four (4) training sessions offered by the HKIFFS before taking practicum, the training will be held in late October or early November 2011. The exact date will be announced later
Applicants should committed to volunteer for around 30 hours before and during the Film Festivals, the shifts will be based on the actual operation needs and mostly in 4-6 hour per session
